Europe pays for development of folding containers

The Holland Container Innovation gоt 2.5 million Euro from EU for developing and built into production of folding container, named 4FOLD. The financing was provided by European Union's program for innovations "Horizon 2020".

Today About 20% of containers in the ocean, and 40% moved inland are hauled empty.

The idea is that container can be folded to a plate, as four folded containers take volume of normal container. This will optimize warehousing spends, and will increase free world capacity for container haulage, which will reduce freight rates.
